MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium which has both the superior electromagnetic transducing characteristic and the proper running durability. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium includes the magnetic layer including ferromagnetic powder and a binder on one side of a nonmagnetic support and a back coat layer on the other side. An intermediate layer having the main component of a radiation curing resin is provided between the nonmagnetic support and the magnetic layer. The thickness of the magnetic layer is in the range of 0.01-0.2μm. The ferromagnetic powder is hexagonal ferrite powder having the mean plate diameter of 10-35 nm or ferromagnetic metal powder having the mean long axis of 15-100 nm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
