PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cartridge which prevents light from entering from a mouth for film and ensures a stabilized light blocking effect without specially processing pile of shading members or using special processed yarn, and to provide a method for manufacturing the cartridge. SOLUTION: In the cartridge for photographic film having a cylindrical body obtained by cylindrically bending a rectangular steel blank so that a first end at one of a longitudinal direction of the blank and a second end at the other overlap nearly parallel to each other and by forming a slit mouth for film, and also having caps which support a spool rotatably, the cartridge has, on insides of the mouth for film, shading members stuck in a state where the members protrude from the tip of the first end and the tip of the second end, and a part of the shading member protruded from the tip of the second end inclines outward at 3-15°with respect to the shading member stuck to the second end.
