PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator apparatus enabling the laying out of wiring cables between an elevator and an elevator control panel installed in a hoistway without any trouble even if the hoistway is narrow. SOLUTION: This elevator apparatus 5 comprises a box type elevator car 1, a control box 2 installed on the upper surface of the elevator car 1, corner plates 3 covering the inner corner parts 7 of the elevator car 1 in the vertical direction, and the elevator control panel installed in the hoistway 4 in which the elevator car 1 runs. The wiring cords 6 between the control box 2 and the elevator control panel are led into the elevator car 1 through the rear surface side of the corner plates 3 in the elevator car 1.
