PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary tool for leading an animal, capable of being conveniently used in going for a walk with the animal, especially, at night. SOLUTION: This auxiliary tool for leading the animal is equipped with a lead 3 of which the one end is attached to the animal, such as a dog, and which leads the animal to walk or to run, and further with a grip part 4 which is attached to the other end of the lead 3, wherein a light 5 for emitting light with which the animal is irradiated is mounted on the lead 3 or the grip part 4. A taking-up and drawing-out device 10 which conducts taking up or drawing out of the lead 3 and controls length of the lead 3 is preferably used as the grip part 4.
