<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether or not a rewrite will cause failure and, in case of failure, prevent the rewrite when rewriting a program to a new program in a single image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A copying machine 1A as the image forming apparatus comprises a print part 20 for recording image data on a recording medium, a nonvolatile memory 120 serving as a storage part for storing various programs, and a control part 110 for determining whether or not the rewrite of any of the programs stored in the nonvolatile memory 120 to a new program will cause failure and, if finding failure, prohibiting the rewrite of the program stored in the nonvolatile memory 120 to the new program. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
