<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensing device having the function of securely checking if a passing body has entered or exited, so that it can accurately determine the moving direction of the passing body and the directions in which the passing body moves in and out; and a passing-body monitoring system using the sensing device. <P>SOLUTION: The directions in which the passing body moves in and out are determined either by using a pair of sensing devices and a differential value between their outputs, the sensing devices providing electric outputs while responding in a monotonous manner to physical quantities inputted to a sensor that correspond to the moving in and out of the passing body, or by installing at least two or more pairs of sensing devices. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
