PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling control device for a vehicle improved in brake controllability. SOLUTION: This traveling control system for a vehicle is provided with a radar sensor RS, a car speed controller SC, a hydraulic pump 21, a proportional solenoid valve 22 and a brake controller BC. In the case wherein the car speed controller SC determines a condition for operating brake on the basis of the information from the radar sensor RS, the brake controller BC operates the hydraulic pump 21 and the proportional solenoid valve 22 on the basis of a command from the car speed controller SC, and controls brake torque of wheels.
