PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water stop valve, that is simply attached to/detached from piping used for a heat source machine or the like, which will not leak fluid in the tube, which will not unexpectedly come off piping, and which enables to discriminate if the valve is opened/closed by appearance. SOLUTION: In this water stop valve, an O-ring for sealing is disposed in a groove formed close to a root part of a shaft. The cross sectional form of the shaft is set to be smaller than cross sectional area of an inner space of the piping. A knob part of the water stop valve is provided with a hole or a groove in such a form that a general tool can be engaged, and a finger pick part is provided of which angle is varied in accordance with opening/closing of the valve.
