PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which can reduce the generation of smoke over the entire operating range. SOLUTION: When the maximum diameter, the lip diameter and the maximum depth of a cavity formed in a piston 2, are respectively represented by D1, D2 and H, the value of (D1-D2)/D1 which is a reentrant rate is set to be substantially 0.1 and the value of D1/H which is an aspect ratio is set to be substantially 4. Further, when the outer diameter of the piston 2 is expressed by D0, the quotient of the lip diameter D2 divided by the piston outer diameter D0 is set to be 0.5 to 0.7. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
