PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rotaxane in which the number of ring components can be regulated; to obtain a crosslinking agent, that is a topological crosslinking agent, enabling a crosslinking point to be freely moved and obtained by utilizing the rotaxane; and to provide a method for producing the rotaxane, a crosslinking method utilizing the rotaxane, and to obtain a crosslinked polymer obtained by carrying out the crosslinking by the crosslinking method. SOLUTION: The rotaxane has an axial component represented by the formula: R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>2</SP>-R<SP>1</SP>(wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is a monovalent group independently acting as an endcap; and R<SP>2</SP>is a linear chain part comprising a linear divalent group), and ring components held in a state of revolving around the linear chain part of the axis component, and comprising at least two crown ether molecules each having at least one functional group.
