The present invention provides novel methods and compositions for the treatment of cancer, and in particular for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). The present invention also relates to the use of ?d+ T cells to identify and respond to a specific antigen expressed by ALL, thereby enabling the targeted treatment of ALL. Diagnostic methods and kits for the detection and monitoring of cancer are also provided.
