PATCH ANTENNA AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PATCH ANTENNA

<p>A patch antenna in which resonance can take place in the long side direction and the short side direction of a second conductor (radiation electrode) and radio wave in two frequency bands can be transmitted/received even though the constitution is smaller and the cost is lower than conventional. The patch antenna (1) comprises a radiation electrode (11) and a ground conductor (13) disposed oppositely. A dielectric body (12) is provided in the gap between the radiation electrode (11) and the ground conductor (13). The radiation electrode (11) and the ground conductor (13) are made of a material exhibiting excellent conductivity. The radiationelectrode (11) is rectangular when viewed from above, and a feeding part (S) is provided at a position at an approximately equal distance from two opposing sides (short sides in this case) of the radiation electrode (11). The thickness of the dielectric (12) varies in the long side direction (-Y direction in this case) of the radiation electrode (11) from one end part thereof at the position of distance a.</p>
