摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus for executing efficient image processing in the case of generating one still picture from a plurality of images compressed by a prescribed coding method using motion vector information.

SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus for decoding moving picture data compressed by a prescribed coding method using motion vector information between images into a frame image as a plurality of still pictures configuring the moving picture, extracting a prescribed number of frame images from the decoded frame image and composing the prescribed number of frame images to produce one still picture, includes a shift amount correction means for correcting a shift amount between the frame images prior to composition of the frame images, and the shift amount correction means extracts the motion vector information corresponding to the frame image to execute the correction of the shift amount by referencing the motion vector information.
