<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DSRC on-vehicle device that can minimize the possibility of deviation from a communication area before an application is completed. <P>SOLUTION: The DSRC on-vehicle device sends and receives information to and from a roadside device 20 by radio and uses a CPU 4 to set for a security module 5 a security system that corresponds to the application executed. The module 5 has a plurality of security systems that correspond to a plurality of applications. When the device receives a predetermined application ID from the roadside device 20 as it enters the communication area, the CPU 4 switches the current security system set for the module 5 to another predetermined security system that corresponds to a predetermined application, if the current security system is different from the predetermined security system.
