PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal/resin composite body obtained by integrally bonding a metal and a resin, strong in bonding, having mass productivity and capable of being freely designed in shape and structure, and to provide a manufacturing technique thereof. SOLUTION: A porous surface layer having a fine uneven layer is formed on the bonding surface 5 of a metal shaped article 1 processed into a predetermined shape. For example, an aluminum alloy shaped article and a magnesium alloy shaped article are finely etched or anodically oxidized to obtain porous layers having fine uneven layers on the surfaces thereof. The porous layers are immersed in a water soluble alcohol solution and an alcohol is occuluded in fine pores. When these shaped articles having the porous layers are inserted in an injection mold and a thermoplastic resin composition 2 based on polyalkylene terephthalate is injected in the injection mold, the composite body 4 wherein the metal shaped articles and the resin molded part are strongly bonded and integrated is obtained.
