PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a uniform and good transfer performance and to obtain high image quality even if use environmental conditions change due to a change in temperature and humidity. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with an endless belt conveyer 1 which conveys a recording medium to a toner image forming means 7 and transfers the image formed by the toner image forming means 7 to the recording medium. The endless belt conveyer satisfies 0.3≤(logρ<SB>s</SB>-logρ<SB>v</SB>)≤1.3 when the surface resistivity in 10 seconds after the application of 500[V] is defined asρ<SB>s</SB>[Ω/sq.] and the volume resistivity in 10 seconds after the application of 250[V] asρ<SB>v</SB>[Ω/ cm].
