PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double-layered capacitor element which is made radially small-sized. SOLUTION: The electric double-layered capacitor element 2 constituted by stacking a plurality of electric double-layered capacitor basic cells 3 having activated carbon electrodes as polarizing electrodes 33 is provided with tapered parts 31a, so that hollows of surfaces of annular gaskets 31 of the plurality of electric double-layered capacitor basic cells 3 which come into contact with separators 34 have smaller cross sections than hollows of surfaces coming into contact with a current collector 32. Further, inner surfaces of the gaskets are made stepped so that the hollows of the surfaces coming into contact with the separators 34 have smaller cross sections than the hollows of surfaces coming into contact with the current collector.
