PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize data shift for each drive by continuously using a portion of a origin storage device system while accepting a read/write request from a host computer to shift target data at the time of shifting a storage device system. SOLUTION: The volume of the shift target drive of a shift origin storage device system is defined as the external volume of shift destination. Then, access from a host to the shift drive is switched to the shift destination storage device system. Access is secured as the external volume of the shift destination storage device system, and an input port different from the input/output port of a drive which is being accessed at present is closed, and it is reconnected to the interface of the shift destination storage device system. Then, the input/output port which is being accessed as the external volume is closed, and it is connected to the interface of the shift destination storage device, and the shift target drive is mounted on the shift destination storage device system.
