<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accessing method which can prevent content from being illegally used without increase in cost, and also provide an information processing device. <P>SOLUTION: It is determined whether a reproducing device used for loading program content designated in response to the startup request of the program content is a virtual drive virtually set (Step 407). Then, if the reproducing device is a virtual drive, the startup of the program content is prohibited (Step 409). If the reproducing device is not a virtual drive, the startup of the program content is permitted (Step 411 and 413). Thus, it is possible to determine whether the program content is content recorded to an optical disk or content included in image data copied to a hard disk.
