<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid oxide fuel cell with a reaction rate of an internal reforming controlled to lower internal stress. <P>SOLUTION: The solid oxide fuel cell 10 has an air electrode 12, an electrolyte layer 14 adjoining to the air electrode 12, and a fuel electrode 16 adjoining to the electrolyte layer 14. The fuel electrode 16 used for the fuel cell contains a supporting structure forming at least one part of fuel electrode passages 22, 26, 28, 30, and a catalyst accelerating the reforming. The fuel electrode passages 22, 26, 28, 30 have fuel electrode passage entrances 36, 38, 40, 42, to introduce fuel to the solid oxide fuel cell, and a fuel electrode passage outlet to drain an un-reacting fuel and/or a product. The catalyst is dispersed in or on the supporting structure to accelerate a reforming rate as a distance increases from the fuel electrode passage entrances 36, 38, 40, 42.
