<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system which shares a gray printing process with the image output side and a printer to disperse the load, thus reducing the processing time of the entire processing system. <P>SOLUTION: The printing system sends printing information containing mixed various kinds of objects from an information processor to a printer. The system comprises gray deciding means and converting means in an output controller 13 of the information processor 1 and a data processor 22 in the printer 2. For converting various data formats of input image data to the CMYK format to output image data, the gray deciding means makes a gray decision process of each pixel of the input image data according to the input data format thereof. About pixels contained in image objects or gradation objects and decided to be gray data by the gray deciding means, the converting means makes a K-color conversion or a CMYK color conversionaccording to values obtained by a history preprocess, a history pre-post process, a history post-process or an adjacent pixel process for applying specified weights to the respective data of a plurality of pixels containing the just-mentioned pixels. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
