<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermittent display device realizing the improvement of moving picture performance without causing the upsizing of a projector main body and the improvement of convenience, and to provide a projector. <P>SOLUTION: The intermittent display device 1B is used for the projector 1 equipped with a hold type optical modulator, a projection lens 3 and an external case 2. The intermittent display device 1B includes a luminous flux shielding means having a transmission part for transmitting incident luminous flux and a shielding part for shielding the incident luminous flux, and a rotating and driving means moving the transmission part and the shielding part so as to cross an optical image in the luminous flux shielding means which is rotatably constituted. The luminous flux shielding means and the rotating and driving means are integrally constituted and attachably/detachably attached to the external case 2 of a projector main body 1A to intermittently perform operation for shielding the optical image enlarged and projected from the projector main body 1A in a fixed period by allowing the rotating and driving means to drive to rotate the luminous flux shielding means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
