<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prism structure capable of constituting a projector free from the projection of stray light and a shadow on a screen. <P>SOLUTION: The prism structure 570 is constituted by integrally forming three liquid crystal apparatuses 400R, 400G and 400B and a cross dichroic prism 500, regarding three light incident surfaces of the cross dichroic prism 500, light shielding members 448R, 448G and 448B separately having an aperture for transmitting image light at the center part and a light shielding part for shielding ambient light of the image light on the peripheral part are arranged between exit side polarizing plates 430R, 430G and 430B and viewing angle compensation plates 446R, 446G and 446B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
