<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition for writing tools which exhibits excellent stability with time and highly opacifying properties and can maintain clear handwriting over a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The ink composition for writing tools comprises a composite particle where an opacifying particle is dispersed in a polymer resin having a true density of at most 1.0 g/cm<SP>3</SP>. As the opacifying particle, at least one selected from among titanium oxide, zinc oxide and a hollow resin particle is employed.
