PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an activating liquid for microorganisms that can attain sharp increased yield of crops and remarkable enhancement in quality by applying an optimal activating liquid into the soil to activate the microorganisms in the soil, reproducing the microorganisms useful for growth of plants using the activating liquid and then performing healthy and prompt growth of the plants with these microorganisms. SOLUTION: This activating liquid comprises sodium thiosulfate, ammonia of 1/3-1 equivalent and sugar of 1/3-1 equivalent as an original agent, which is diluted with 5-20 times the amount of water to prepare an application liquid, and which is furthermore diluted into 1,000-3,000 times to be applied to the soil.
