PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To customize operation control and function easily with a reduced number of operation procedures in a communication apparatus by operating a function key corresponding to a specific function without being registered previously. SOLUTION: In the communication apparatus having a function key associated with the execution of a specific function, a function control memory 110 has an area for storing a mode state indicating a function control mode for controlling the execution of the function or a normal mode not controlling the execution of the function. An input section 105 detects a signal inputted by operating the function key, a function control switching section 107 decides that a detected signal is inputted by operating a specific function key, switches the function control mode and the normal mode, and updates the mode state of the function control memory, and a function control deciding section 108 decides whether a function associated with the function key can be executed or not when the mode state is in the function control mode.
