PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly update and set information of surrounding base stations that notify from a base station to a mobile station. SOLUTION: In a mobile station of a mobile communications system, having a plurality of base stations for transmitting a roosting channel and surrounding base station information, and a mobile station, surrounding base station information transmitted by the base station is received and the roost channel transmitted by the surrounding base station is searched and received on the basis of the received surrounding base station information. The surrounding base station information which is actually observed in search/receiving step is transmitted to the base station. In the base station, the surrounding base station information transmitted by the mobile station is received and the surrounding base station information of the base station is updated on the basis of the received surrounding base station information.
