PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety valve setting pressure adjusting mechanism and a safety valve having the adjusting mechanism which can easily and surely adjust the setting pressure even if the valve belongs to a large sized safety valve and which can prevent screws from seizing. SOLUTION: An upper side supporting member 25 is pressed down along a valve stem 28 against an energizing force of a spring 23 through an adjusting sleeve 30 with gas pressures in advance and a clearance is provided between the adjusting sleeve 30 and an adjusting screw member 26 and the safety valve setting pressure adjustment is performed by rotating the adjusting screw member 26 for adjusting the position in a state that the energetic power of the spring 23 does not operate.
