PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for an engine capable of improving degrees of freedom of layouts of an engine and auxiliary equipment around the engine. SOLUTION: A timing transmission mechanism chamber 100 storing a timing transmission mechanism 26 is extended along one side parts of a cylinder head 31 and a cylinder block. An outlet 75 of a water jacket 70 of the cylinder head 31 and an outlet of the cylinder block are arranged in the side of the timing transmission mechanism chamber 100 extended along the one-side parts.
