PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively restrain a rise in the temperature of the entire transfer device having a transfer conveyance belt. SOLUTION: A toner image formed on a photoreceptor drum 10 is transferred to paper P. A housing 70 is disposed around the transfer conveyance belt 21 that conveys the paper P while holding it thereon. The housing 70 covers the transfer conveyance belt 21 except the face on which the paper P is held. In addition, the housing 70 has openings 73a and 74a in a front wall 73 and a rear wall 74, respectively, at both ends of the housing 70 in the direction of the movement of the transfer conveyance belt 21.
