PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat dissipation structure of an optical isolator which dissipates heat generation from a Faraday element efficiently. SOLUTION: The heat dissipation structure of the optical isolator is characterized in that it is equipped with a magnetic garnet crystal film 1 being the Faraday element, and first and second heat conduction boards 2, 3 which are mounted at both sides of the magnetic garnet crystal film so as to hold it, and the first heat conduction board 2 is made of a substrate consisting of Gadolinium Gallium Garnet (GGG) and although the second head conduction board 3 is made of the member selected from following heat conduction members (2) to (9), when one side of the first and second heat conduction boards is made of the heat conduction member (1), the board of the other side is made of the member selected from the following heat conduction members (2) to (9). Here, the heat conduction members are; (1) GGG, (2) TiO<SB>2</SB>, (3) Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, (4) 3C-SiC, (5) 4H-SiC, (6) 6H-SiC, (7) hex.AIN, (8) hex.GaN, and (9) C. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
