PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a wire rope from being slackened by a vertical stop tool, in a stationary type flow velocity measuring instrument provided with the vertical stop tool moved along a wire rope. SOLUTION: This measuring instrument is provided with the wire rope 10 for moving the vertical stop tools laid between frames 9, 9 and moved by moving of a carrier 13, and stoppers 34, 34A provided in the wire rope 10 for moving the vertical stop tools with a space to the carrier 13, and moved while pushing the vertical stop tools 31, 31A to a carrier 13 side, and the measurement instrument is provided in the carrier 13. When the carrier 13 is moved, the vertical stop tools 31, 31A, arranged in a moving-directional front side are moved to a left frame 9 side; while pushed by the carrier 13, the wire rope 10 for the moving is moved together with the carrier 13, and the stoppers 34, 34A provided in the wire rope 10 push the vertical stop tools 31, 31A in a carrier moving-directional rear side, to arrange the vertical stop tools 31, 31A in a carrier 13 rear side.
