PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low cost antibacterial deodorant formed by uniformly dissolving zinc carbonate or zinc oxide of deodorant components in a solvent, having removing effects on a plurality of types of malodorous substances, eliminating any possibility of re-radiating removed gas by chemically bonding with the malodorous substances, having superior storage stability, and being safe for the human body. SOLUTION: This antibacterial deodorant contains zinc carbonate or zinc oxide, and at least one type of amino acid selected from the group of glycine, alanine, phenylalanine, glutamate and sarcosine as active ingredients. The blending ratio of zinc carbonate or zinc oxide with the amino acid is settled within the range of 1:2-1:50 wt.%. This antibacterial deodorant is ordinarily used in the form of aqueous solution, spray or aerosol. Furthermore, it is preferable to use it in the form of the aqueous solution wherein the concentration of the active ingredients in the deodorant is controlled to 0.1-10 wt.%.
