PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling unit for removing falling articles capable of removing the falling articles falling from a belt conveyor in operation for performing an article carrying operation to the under cover on the underside of the belt conveyor by efficiently scraping out and moving them and a belt conveyor system capable of performing a cleaning operation by easily collecting the falling articles. SOLUTION: This traveling unit for removing the falling articles removes while traveling the articles falling from the conveyor belt during the transportation of the articles in the belt conveyor system for carrying the articles in which the articles are put on the conveyor belt for carrying them by a prescribed distance. The traveling unit comprises a self-traveling means having a drive means and a drive battery for running on a surface on which the falling articles are present and a scraper part for pushing out or scraping out the falling articles while traveling.
