PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus capable of replacing rod-like articles such as small-diameter drills with both ends directed reversely between two kinds of cases with different hole intervals. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a table 1 on which the cases 2 and 3 with different hole intervals 2A and 3A are mounted, working units 6 and 7 provided above the table, and a means for moving them in directions that they come closer to and farther away from each other. The working units 6 and 7 include a plurality of fingers 23 forming a clamp 31 capable of opening/closing to pinch one end of the rod-like article, a finger holder 24 for holding the finger, and a fluid pressure cylinder 25 for swinging the holder to switch the clamp 31 of each finger between a downwardly facing posture and a laterally facing posture. Each finger 23 of the working unit 6 is fixed to the finger holder 24 while the interval of the clamp 31 coincides with the interval of the hole 2A of the case. Each finger 23 of the working unit 7 has its interval which is changed when the clamp 31 is switched from the laterally facing posture to the downwardly facing posture. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
