PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a truss member connecting structure and a truss member connecting method, which can facilitate truss connecting work and which can greatly shorten connecting work time. SOLUTION: A joint comprises joint plates 1 which are arranged in such a manner as to face each other; a circular positioning opening 2 is formed in the center of each joint plate 1; a connecting plate 11 for being connected to the joint plate 1 is elongated at both the ends of the truss member 3; sandwiched plates 12, which are held in the state of being sandwiched between the joint plates 1, are provided at the ends of the connecting plate 11 in such a manner as to be perpendicular to the width direction of the connecting plate; a positioning rod 4, both the ends of which can be inserted into the positioning opening 2, is provided in the width direction at the leading end of the connecting plate 11; and a tapered alignment punch 14 is pushed in between the positioning rods 4 which are inserted into the positioning opening 2, so that respective positioning rods 4 can be pushed and expanded for positioning.
