PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of storing methacrolein which does not polymerize the methacrolein and inhibit formation of a methacrolein dimer. SOLUTION: The method of storing methacrolein stores the methacrolein under the conditions which meet the conditions such that (1) the concentration of phenolic compounds in the methacrolein is 0.0005-3 mass%; (2) the temperature of the methacrolein is≤20°C; and the surface of the methacrolein is in contact with a 3-20 vol.% oxygen-containing gas.
