<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device and an image forming apparatus which have a short rise time and are capable of preventing the temperature fall of a fixing belt in starting paper passing just after starting. <P>SOLUTION: In the fixing device provided with a fixing roller 50, a pressure roller 70, and a heat roller 60 having a heat source, heat sources 55 and 75 are provided in at least one of the fixing roller 50 and the pressure roller 70, and a control means 80 is provided which rotates the fixing belt while causing at least one heat source of the roller provided with heat sources to generate heat, in response to starting of the fixing device and permits paper feed and printing after the surface temperature of the fixing belt rises to reach a set temperature, and rotates the fixing belt for a certain time after stopping heat generation of heat sources when no paper passing is executed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
