PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion apparatus which is provided with a cooling structure using a refrigerant and can extend a service life of a power device with respect to temperature cycle and service lines of pumps, valves, etc. by a simple control method composed of a small number of detectors and devices, and can surely prevent dew condensation. SOLUTION: A region where dew condensation tends to occur on the surface of a power conversion apparatus 1 is provided in power conversion apparatus-side piping 3 in a box 2 housing the power conversion apparatus 1 comprising power devices and a cooler, and a dew condensation sensor 4 is fitted in the region and a signal therefrom is picked up by a control circuit 5. The control circuit 5 issues an instruction to regulate a control valve 6 so that the flow rate of a refrigerant in a heat exchanger 8 may be reduced, and the temperature of the refrigerant running in the piping 3 is increased. Thus, the temperature of the refrigerant flowing in the power conversion apparatus 1 increases, resulting in preventing dew condensation on the surface of the power conversion apparatus 1.
