PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve the oxidation resistance or the like of metallic particles by coating each surface of the metallic particles with a layer of the hydrolysate or polycondensate of an organo-metallic compound with high yield. SOLUTION: A suspension obtained by suspending metallic particles in an alcoholic solvent is mixed with a hydrolyzable organo-metallic compound such as alkoxysilane. Thereafter, alcohol used as the solvent is mixed with water in a state of not substantially being volatilized (a low temperature state, a sealed state or a reflux state), and the organo-metallic compound is hydrolyzed. Next, while volatilizing the alcohol used as the solvent in an opened state (including a semi-opened state), the suspension is mixed with a base catalyst or an acid catalyst, and the hydrolyzed product of the organo-metallic compound is polycondensed so as to be applied on each surface of the metallic particles.
