PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the responsiveness in braking by approaching the turning condition to the limit of the vehicle turning performance in accordance with the accelerating will of the driver and applying a sufficient preload when automatic deceleration is to be made. SOLUTION: Automatic deceleration is conducted when the turning radius R and the turning speed V exceed the deceleration starting thresholds Rs and Vs involving a certain margin with respect to the limit of the vehicle turning performance (No at Step S10), and with a greater accelerator opening Acc, Rs and Vs are approached to the limit of the performance, wherein even during the accelerator being operated, the thresholds Rs and Vs corresponding to Acc=0% are calculated as the preload starting thresholds Rp and Vp at the time of operating the accelerator, and the preload is applied to the brake when the turning radius R and the turning speed V do not exceed the deceleration starting thresholds Rs and Vs and have exceeded the preload starting thresholds Rp and Vp (Yes at Steps S9 and S10).
