METHOD FOR NEUTRALIZING ALKALI SOIL AND LEACHATE FROM THE SOIL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for neutralizing alkali soil (1) or the leachate (2) from the alkali soil without lowering the hydrogen ion concentration drastically. SOLUTION: The alkali soil is neutralized by adding a salt of a weak acid and a strong base and aluminum sulfate to the alkali soil. The leachate (2) from the alkali soil (1) is neutralized by making the leachate (2) pass through a neutralizing soil layer (30) containing the salt of the weak acid and the strong base and aluminum sulfate. Salt of carbonic acid and a hydroxide of an alkali metal is used as the salt of the weak acid and the strong base, for example.
