PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of increasing the vertical turning angle of a suction port joint without generating noise such as wind whistles and provided with a shutter structure for lifting the suction port joint at a prescribed angle. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner comprises: a suction port body 1 provided with a suction port 2 on the bottom surface; a case 3 for attaching the suction port joint attached to the longitudinal direction center part of the suction port body 1 so as to be freely turned horizontally and communicating with the suction port 2; a restoration means composed of a torsion spring 4 for restoring the rotating position of the case 3 for attaching the suction port joint to the normal position to the suction port main body 1; a first suction port joint 5 pivoted to the case 3 for attaching the suction port joint so as to be freely swung vertically; a second suction port joint 7 connected to the first suction port joint 5 so as to be relatively turned through an oblique connecting surface 6; a shutter 50 for closing a gap generated between the first suction port joint 5 and the case 3 for attaching the suction port joint; and a spring 60 for energizing the shutter 50 in the opening direction of a suction air path and angling the first suction port joint 5 upwards.
