Benzamide of 4-(aminomethyl)piperidine derivative of formula (I), wherein R1 and R2 taken together form a bivalent group of formula -O-CH2-O-, -O-CH2-CH2-, -O-CH2-CH2-O-, -O-CH2-CH2-CH2, -O-CH2-CH2-CH2-O- or -O-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-, wherein in said bivalent groups one or two hydrogen atoms may be substituted with C1-C6 alkyl; R3 is hydrogen or halogen; R4 is hydrogen or C1-C6 alkyl; R5 is hydrogen or C1-C6 alkyl; L is C3-C6 cycloalkyl, C5-C6 cycloalkanone or C2-C6 alkenyl, or L is a group of formula -Alk-R6, -Alk-X-R7, -Alk-Y-C(=O)-R9, or -Alk-Y-C(=O)-NR11R12, wherein each Alk is C1-C12 alkanediyl; a stereochemically isomeric form thereof, an N-oxide form thereof or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid or base addition salt thereof. Benzamides of general formula (I) are suitable for use in the treatment of conditions, which are related to impairment of gastrointestinal motility. Process for preparing a compound of general formula (I), an intermediate of general formula (III) and process for preparing said intermediate, use of benzamide of general formula (I) as a medicament and pharmaceutical composition comprising benzamide of general formula (I) are also described.
