PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store and reproduce contents information without restricting user's operation. SOLUTION: A main control unit 11 monitors a user's operation input accepted by an input unit 7 and judges whether or not contents information to be reproduced is already stored in an HD drive 8. An output switching unit 4 is controlled based on a result of the judgement and if the contents information is already stored in the HD drive 8, contents information read from the HD drive 8 is outputted, but if the contents information is not stored in the HD drive 8 yet, contents information read by a CD drive 2 is outputted.
