PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery with cycle characteristics improved by the improvement of stability of a solvent, and an electrolyte used for it. SOLUTION: An anode 22 contains a single body, an alloy or a compound of a metal element, or a single body, an alloy or a compound of a semi-metal element capable of storing and releasing lithium. Electrolyte solution with electrolyte salt dissolved in a solvent is impregnated in a separator. The solvent contains carboxylic ester or ketone in which a third alkyl group is directly combined with a carbonyl group as a low-viscosity solvent.
