PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing, controlling or improving hepatic fibrosis, comprising monitoring the fibrillation of liver, while using the hardness of the liver as an index, and administering at least one branched essential amino acid. SOLUTION: This method for preventing, controlling or improving hepatic fibrosis is characterized by administering at least one branched essential amino acid selected from leucine, isoleucine and valine. As a concrete mode, the method for preventing, controlling or improving the advance in the fibrillation of liver is characterized by administering at least one branched essential amino acid selected from leucine, isoleucine and valine, while using the hardness of hepatic tissue as an index.
