PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nip roll accurately manufacturable at low cost by reducing a variation in nip pressure in the axial direction thereof to make the outline of the nip roll straight when the surface of the nip roll is ground or re-ground. SOLUTION: This nip roll comprises a roll core formed of a metal material and having a diameter maximized at the center of a body part and gradually reduced starting at the center toward the end part of the body part and a body part surface layer formed of a rubber elastic material to cover the roll core.
