PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of preventing the displacement of a printing position and the printing unevenness due to the displacement of the printing position without relying on the number of printings. SOLUTION: In a printer 1 printing on a recording medium, a platen 31 sucks and holds the recording medium 24 by using a plurality of sucking holes 33 in the carrying direction of the recording medium 24, and carries the held recording medium 24. A printing part 40 prints on the recording medium 24 held on the platen 31. A suction fan 32 generates a sucking force in the sucking holes 33 of the platen 31. Double routes 70 selectively accepts and carries the recording medium 24 discharged from the platen 31, and the recording medium 24 is re-fed to the platen 31. A control part 2 carries the first recording medium 24 to a prescribed position in the double route 70 without printing, by a printing part 40, on the first recording medium 24 carried by the platen 31 after paper feed is started, and the printing is started by the printing part 40 starting at the second recording medium 24 carried by the platen 31 after the first recording medium.
