PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of an accident even if a ram driving mechanism section gets abnormal by monitoring the trouble of a position detector for detecting a ram position. SOLUTION: The electric servo type press brake is equipped with a linear scale 22 for detecting the absolute position of a ram, and an encoder 21 for detecting the rotating position of a AC servomotor 15 from a pulse signal outputted in matching with the rotation of the AC servomotor 15 and is constituted so as to monitor the amounts of mutual deviations of the respective signals from the linear scale 22 and the encoder 21, or the respective calculated values calculated from the respective signals in NC equipment 13.
